Dyno-mite!
Well, finally found a local dyno day at a shop nearby. They use a mustang dyno... which from my internet research read lower than DynoJet (what most shops use) by 5-10% in some cases. And since it was a $60 2-pull special, they didn't hook up for an RPM signal, so all we really get is a peak number.
The details (in case you haven’t been following along):
2gr motor
Frankenstein Motorworks LLC Headers, Intake, MAF tune (7700 rev limit)
Wilhelm Y-pipe
Berk Exhaust
MonkeyWrench Racing stage 1 cams and valve springs.
Peak power, 309whp, I can't complain, that’s about 364hp at the flywheel. Looking at Alex's last dyno with 289whp, looks like the cams are really good for 20whp! It does look like I'm down 8ft/lbs on Alex's dyno... interesting if the cams also caused that or just differences in our engines/dyno machines. If I ever find a local dyno day on a dynojet I will definitely attend to see if we can compare apples to apples, just don't want to pay the $200-$300 to rent a dyno for a baseline.
Looks like my iphone mic freaked out on the video lol, it was LOUD.
